OUR IMPACT

Creating change, together

Our impact begins with the knowledge, leadership and aspirations of the communities we serve. We strengthen local capacity, support community-led initiatives and build partnerships for long-term change.

COMMUNITY INITIATIVES

Building a foundation for community action

Key milestones from the Centre’s early development, around 2021–2022.

1

Establishing a community centre

Development of a physical space for community meetings, training, workshops and collaboration with partners.

2

Building partnerships

Collaboration with organisations including Global Partners for Development and Whittier College to strengthen organisational capacity and support learning.

3

Engaging community leaders

Consultations with traditional leaders across four districts of Maasai land in Tanzania to share plans and gather feedback.

4

Establishing the organisation

Registration of the Centre as a civil society organisation under Tanzanian law.

Learning from community experience

We aim to learn from community experience, assess the relevance of our programmes and use evidence to guide improvements. Our impact reporting can cover:

  • Community participation in programme design and implementation.
  • Access to relevant information, services and learning opportunities.
  • Community leadership and governance capacity.
  • Support for pastoralist livelihoods and land rights.
  • Cultural preservation and intergenerational knowledge sharing.
  • Environmental resilience and locally led conservation.
