Community ownership
Local voices and priorities guide our work.
WHO WE ARE
Arkaria Community Centre exists to support Maasai pastoralist communities as they navigate social, economic, environmental and political change while preserving their cultural identity and traditional knowledge.

OUR STORY
For decades, the Centre’s founders and local community members have pursued initiatives aimed at improving education, public health, social justice and environmental outcomes.
The strategic plan records earlier efforts involving education, clean water, income-generating activities, scholarships for girls and community support during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The establishment of the Centre was a step towards coordinating these efforts, strengthening partnerships and creating a locally anchored platform for long-term community development.
OUR MISSION
OUR VISION
We bring indigenous and contemporary knowledge together to support practical, locally relevant responses to community challenges. Communities are active participants in defining their priorities, shaping interventions and assessing outcomes.
